Suncorp - #TeamGirls Challenge - Social

Building young girls’ team spirits when they are apart.

In March 2020, the Australian Netball season was due to commence, but it was instead halted due to COVID-19. Millions of young girls across the country were far from the court, isolated at home, away from their friends and teammates. They were turning to technology and social media as their only way to stay connected and entertained.

As the principal partner of Netball Australia, Suncorp launched a TikTok dance challenge to keep young Netball players connected as a team and active during lockdown. The challenge required girls to work together as a duet and complete set choreography to our Suncorp Team Girls chant that we had launched in 2019.

We launched the challenge by leveraging the creativity of influencers and Team Girls ambassadors who participated in the challenge. We promoted it further through TikTok top view video, in-feed and and digital display.

Inspired by professional Netball players and TikTok influencers, the girls tuned in and created duets with their friends and idols.

Other sports got inspired (AFL, Cricket, …) and wanted to take part into our movement, even video game characters joined in.
